Mercedes-Benz GL SUV

Mercedes-Benz, a world famous and greatly respected luxury car maker, is updating their GL series SUV.

The Mercedes-Benz GL, a wagon/SUV creation according to many World Car Fans, is inheriting front and styling attributes from the current E-Class. The new GL will be built on a stretched version of the next generation ML platform.

The updated SUV will have LED daytime running lights on the front bumper and the compact light clusters in the rear, for the taillights, will likely be a part of the next-generation GL's look. Another change will
come from the face of the vehicle making it a bit friendlier with a more aerodynamic nose.

Engines in the upcoming GL SUV will likely still be shared with the current ML (SUV) model, such as the 3.0 and 4.0 liter diesels and the 5.5 liter gasoline engine all coupled to the brand's 7G-Tronic (also known as a 7-speed) transmission.

Sources report that the new GL is due sometime in late 2012, however, AutoExpress is claiming this prototype as another major facelift for the GL-Class which will go on sale in early 2011.
