Mercedes-Benz GLK-Class Nipped & Tucked

The Mercedes-Benz GLK-Class, the most compact member of the austere automaker's SUV range, first arrived to showrooms such as that at Fletcher Jones Imports, located at 7300 West Sahara Ave, Las Vegas, NV, back in 2008. In car years, it's still an infant. Yet, while other automakers might wait to give the soulful SUV a refresh until it got a little older, the Tri-Pointed Star just can't help but work their magic now. Or, at least, that's what recent spy shots suggest.
Underscoring allegations Mercedes-Benz was giving the GLK-Class a nip and tuck, following spy shots of the vehicle undergoing testing this past May, are new images of the angular SUV taking to the icy roads of Norway.
Fletcher Jones Imports doesn't have much to go on beyond these pics. But, from what we can tell, the redesigned Mercedes-Benz GLK-Class sports redesigned front and rear bumpers, more aggressive-looking headlamps and tail lamps, and LED running lights. Inside, it appears Mercedes-Benz designers have borrowed at least a few retro cues from the SLS AMG. Take the GLK-Class shifter, for example...it's moved from the center console to the steering column.
No word yet on when or where Mercedes-Benz plans to unveil the pet project. However, if you stay tuned to the Fletcher Jones Imports blog, you're guaranteed to be among the first to know. In the meantime, feel free to explore the current 2012 GLK-Class SUV, now available at 7300 West Sahara Ave, Las Vegas, NV. Just be forewarned, it isn't a vehicle for the faint hearted. As Mercedes-Benz says, "Courage and boldness are the definition of mettle, and of the 2012 GLK. Go-anywhere capability meets race-bred performance in a compact SUV with the full strength and deep character of a Mercedes-Benz."1 Race-bred performance? That translates into 268 hp!
