Available 2nd Half of 2012: New Mercedes-Benz E400 HYBRID

The North American International Auto Show found Mercedes-Benz making a big statement earlier this month. The plan is to release two new hybrid models to the market in 2012. The 2013 Mercedes-Benz E300 BlueTEC HYBRID will be coming out in Europe and the 2013 Mercedes-Benz E400 HYBRID will coming to the U.S. market.

Fletcher Jones Imports in the Las Vegas area, will be focusing on the E400 HYBRID which merges a direct-injection, petrol-powered V6 engine with a petite hybrid motor and lithium-ion battery to produce power and a zero-to-60-mpg acceleration time that's nearly on par with its non-hybrid predecessor. Also, there is improved fuel economy and ultra-low CO2 emissions for this new model.

Professor Dr. Thomas Weber, Daimler Board Member, Group Research and Head of Mercedes-Benz Cars Development, spoke about the two new Mercedes-Benz E-Class HYBRID cars. He said, "With these two E-Class models we are now continuing our comprehensive hybrid offensive. The modular technology opens up a quick way for us to complement other model series with hybrid models..."1

Dr. Weber also explained how Mercedes-Benz is aware that consumers have different wants and needs when it comes to buy a luxury hybrid car. The 2013 Mercedes-Benz E300 BlueTEC HYBRID will be offered in both a sedan and wagon an the Mercedes-Benz E400 HYBRID will only be offered in a sedan variant.
