The new E 300 and E 300 4MATIC® kicked off the release of the 2017 E-Class line, with additional models following shortly after. Both the E 300 and E 300 4MATIC® are powered by a 2.0L turbo 4-cylinder, which outputs 241 hp and 273 lb-ft of torque. With the push of a button via the KEYLESS START® system, Las Vegas drivers can easily rev up the engine and drive away. A 9G-TRONIC® automatic serves as the new standard transmission for the E-Class, offering a wide selection of gear ratios, quiet operation, and fuel-efficient performance. The newly standard DYNAMIC SELECT® multi-mode drive program can alter performance characteristics to suit the following modes:
Fans of the E-Class can expect a few subtle exterior changes for the Luxury models, including restyled 17- to 19-inch wheels, rear bumper-integrated tailpipe trims, and a front bumper with chrome accents. The Sport models also get their own set of upgrades, including a new “stardust” taillight effect, coupe-esque body styling, a longer wheelbase, and more. The 2017 model year not only marks the E-Class lineup’s tenth generation; it also marks the introduction of new autonomous driving technology from Mercedes-Benz – available on the 2017 model year E-Class. Standard Active Brake Assist automatically applies the emergency brake to help avoid a collision, while PRESAFE® Sound emits a “Pink Noise” to prepare occupants for the sound of an impact. Also available is PRESAFE® Impulse Side – a system that uses an inflatable air chamber in the driver seat’s side bolster to move drivers out of the danger zone during a side impact.
