Charging Levels
Electric vehicles require charging through either a Level 1, 2 or 3 charger. The three levels indicate different charging speeds, measured in kilowatts (kW), accessible via home chargers or public charging stations. Learn More.
Locating Stations
The Mercedes me connect app or the Mercedes-Benz User Experience (MBUX) headunit can help you find charging stations and make it easy to filter by charging speed or even Plug & Charge functionality. Learn More.
Planning for Trips
Your vehicle will monitor its state of charge and suggest the ideal time to stop for a charge. The Electric Intelligence service optimizes navigation route guidance and automatically factors in necessary charging stops for long-distance travel.

Chargers that feature up to 49 kW charging power. Typically, these are the slowest charging speeds and can take more than 8 hours to charge vehicles fully.
Two Arrows
Chargers that are rated between 50 kW and 149 kW of charging power. These are moderate to high charging speeds that are capable of charging your vehicle in less than 2 hours.
Three Arrows

If the arrow is gray, the charger’s data is not being transmitted to the network, and the system cannot distinguish its real-time availability.

Unlimited DC Fast Charging at Electrify America
Every battery electric Mercedes-Benz All-Electric model includes unlimited 30-minute complimentary* DC fast charging sessions with Electrify America for 2 years, starting with the initial activation. Electrify America has the largest network of DC Fast Chargers and can deliver the maximum charging rate for your Mercedes-Benz All-Electric vehicle. To take advantage of this benefit you must be registered with Mercedes me Charge.
Level 1
Level 1 uses a standard household plug and an accessory charger that can be ordered with your Mercedes-Benz All-Electric. This level is capable of charging your vehicle at a rate of around 2-4 miles per hour on a 110V circuit. Because of the very limited power output, we do not recommend relying on this method to charge your Mercedes-Benz All-Electric vehicle.
Level 2
Level 2 uses a separate wall box that can be purchased through ChargePoint. This home charging solution is capable of charging at a rate of around 20-30 miles per hour on a 240V circuit. At a maximum of 9.6 kW, the EQS can charge from 10 – 100% in just over 11 hours.
ChargePoint Home Flex
The Level 2 charger we recommend is the ChargePoint Home Flex, which is one of the most advanced and highly rated connected wallboxes on the market.
Place Your OrderInstallation
We recommend Qmerit to complete the installation of your home charger. The installation costs vary and depend on the individual setup of your home. Complete your home assessment and request a quote today.
Request QuoteWhere can I find public charging stations and are there enough where I live?
There are thousands of electric car charging stations all across America, and more are popping up every day. But if you’re unsure what’s near you, head to the ChargePoint website. Here you can see all of the charging stations in your area and plan possible trips to see where you can recharge along the way.
What equipment do I need to charge at home?
We recommend installing a Level 2 charger in your home which will allow you to charge much faster than a traditional household wall outlet. The ChargePoint Home Flex is the wallbox we’d recommend. Please go to their website to purchase one. In addition, we recommend using Qmerit for installation.
How often do I need to charge and how long does it take?
Every electric vehicle is different. For example, the EQS can go from 10% to 80% in just 31 minutes using a DC fast charging unit (maximum 200kW), and chances are, you will never have to go from empty to full to get where you need to go. In most cases, people charge at home and at work, when their car is parked and they’re busy doing other things.
Are Mercedes-Benz All-Electric vehicles safe?
All Mercedes-Benz All-Electric vehicles undergo rigorous safety testing, just like their gas-powered counterparts. They are tested in extreme heat and cold, are extensively crash-tested, and are built with inherent safety measures to minimize risk in the event of a collision.
Are Mercedes-Benz All-Electric vehicles only for local driving or can I take it on a road trip?
The common myth is that electric vehicles can only go a short distance. What’s important to remember is that you can typically do all your daily driving (and more) on just one charge. But if you do want to road trip, Mercedes-Benz has partnered with Electrify America for two years of complimentary 30-minute charging sessions. Electrify America has a nationwide network of more than 2,600 DC Fast Chargers and are expanding more as time goes on. To get a better idea, try planning a trip using the trip planner on the Electrify America website.
Do electric vehicles perform as well as gas-powered vehicles?
Yes. In fact, they perform even better in areas like torque and acceleration. Because the drive system is electric as opposed to mechanical, the reaction is instant, without the lag of a typical gas engine. At the same time, electric vehicles are quieter and smoother for a more pleasant driving experience.
What happens to my 2 year Electrify America Unlimited Charging benefit if I sell my Mercedes-Benz All-Electric vehicle?
Charging benefits will follow the vehicle and not the account. For example, if a customer turns in a Mercedes-Benz All-Electric vehicle after one year of ownership, and the vehicle gets repurchased by another customer – the second customer will receive 1 year of unlimited free 30 minute charging sessions and the original owner will no longer have access to the free charging sessions.
