Meet Chris Moore, Centralized Diagnostic Technician for Fletcher Jones Imports

In the next installment of our Employee Spotlight Series, we are highlighting Chris Moore, Centralized Diagnostic Technician and Fletcher Jones Imports Team Member of 20 years. Read about his journey with us below.

Journey to Fletcher Jones Imports

Chris’s interest in the automotive industry was sparked by watching his uncle work on the family cars. After high school, he enrolled in the Universal Technical Institute to pursue automotive technician training, including applying for the Mercedes-Benz Elite Program. Chris spent four months hands-on learning the ins and outs of Mercedes-Benz vehicles and he shares, “it was a great experience.”

After graduating from the Universal Technical Institute in 2003, Chris joined Fletcher Jones Imports and he is now celebrating 20 years with us! He shares, “Fletcher Jones has a family first approach to both guests and their team members; this approach has allowed me to grow in my career.” Chris shares how he expressed to management his hopes in pursuing training for the centralized diagnostic technician position – management was more than supportive. Chris was able to apply for training and focus solely on that intensive training thanks to the support offered. He says, “I am grateful for the countless opportunities I have access to as part of the Fletcher Jones Family.”


What is a Centralized Diagnostic Technician?

Did you know? The Centralized Diagnostic Technician Certification (CDT) is earned by a small group of Mercedes-Benz technicians a year. The certification process requires time: countless hours of training, studying, and test taking. Now, Chris serves as the go-to team member for handling all complex Mercedes-Benz service issues. He turns to his whiteboard, where they will map out the symptoms of the vehicle and determine the diagnosis.

The Fletcher Jones Difference

“My guests are like family, my team members are like family; plus, it is always important to listen.” He enjoys the opportunity to connect with guests and build long lasting relationships with them. He shares, “I had a guest who would come in and hangout, even if his Mercedes-Benz was not in for service. I still remember him and I will always love how our guests turn into family.”

Chris’s Favorites: Mercedes-Benz Model


  1. Favorite Mercedes-Benz Model: “I own my dream Mercedes-Benz model, which is the 2000 Mercedes-Benz W210 E 55. It has over 220,000 miles. The key to keep it going at such high mileage is to stay on track with routine maintenance and perform complimentary multi-point inspections to catch issues before they become issues.

  3. Favorite Part of Work: “It is fun solving the issues that arise with Mercedes-Benz vehicles, spending time with guests and team members, and the overall personal satisfaction. This is my career and I love it.”

  5. Favorite Service Tip: “Don’t hesitate to reach out! We are always here to help.”


Outside of FJ Imports

When Chris is not busy solving servicing issues with Mercedes-Benz vehicles, he can be found zipping along on his electric bike. He shares, “On nice days, I will bike to work!”
